Please allow me to introduce myself.
My name is Reinhard Gruen, I was born in 1961 in northern Bavaria in the region known as Franconia near Nuremberg, Germany. I first sat at a piano at the age of six and I enjoyed my piano lessons right from the start. After graduating from the Simon-Marius-Gymnasium in Gunzenhausen in 1980, I studied Business Administration at the Georg-Simon-Ohm University of Applied Sciences in Nuremberg.
While surrounded by all the numbers and statistics of my chosen profession I never lost the passion for playing the piano. With great enthusiasm and love of music, I continued to develop my self-taught playing style and I refined my technique constantly. While working as a successful manager, conducting business with many international companies, my extensive travels introduced me to many cultures as I visited many cities between Moscow and Madrid, Oslo and Tel Aviv.
Over the years my passion for music grew stronger and more obvious, as no piano in any part of the world, whether within a hotel lobby or inside a restaurant lounge, escaped my attention. As an experienced manager, I have learned how to move around with empathy on the international stage and interact with all people in a warm, cosmopolitan manner. Now, after several decades of pivotal priorities such as family and profession, music again occupies a prominent place in my life. With a repertoire as international and diverse as my life experiences, my performances deliver a wide variety of musical genres, including Classical, Ragtime, Pop, Rock and improvised Jazz. My style has been influenced by many musical masters including Russian composer Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky, American Ragtime composer Scott Joplin as well as American Jazz Pianist Brad Mehldau.
